Backing Assembly and Bearing Inspections or Refurbishment
Backing Assembly Repair and Renovation Services
At T. Sendzimir, Inc., we don’t just manufacture new backing assemblies. We also offer a specialized repair and renovation service. You can send us your worn-out backing assemblies for an in-depth inspection and reconditioning process.
The Importance of Smoothly Operating Backing Assemblies
Backing assemblies are the “heart” of your cluster mill, and as such, they need to be manufactured and maintained to the highest quality standards. These high-wear products require timely inspection and repair. Just as a washing machine needs servicing every several years, backing assemblies do, too. Trust the heart of your machine to T. Sendzimir, Inc., and we’ll have your operations back in excellent condition in no time!
Our Examination Process for Backing Assemblies Repair
We can quote new backing assemblies for your mill or recondition your existing assemblies if possible. We’ve even developed new manufacturing techniques for some mill sections to make the assemblies stronger, less expensive, and more durable.
Once we receive your backing assemblies in our USA-based shop, we initiate a detailed tear-down and analysis and then issue a comprehensive report to the customer.
Our Repair Process for Backing Assemblies
All saddles are measured for section height concerning each other for each shaft (eight in total). Sometimes, we can mix and match opposing backing assembly shaft assemblies for highly worn backing assemblies to obtain better section height relationships. In other cases, we can manufacture one or two new saddle assemblies to replace worn-out positions.
We begin the repair process by removing the saddles from the shafts and recording the section height for each saddle assembly. Next, we degrease and clean the exterior, then photograph each piece of equipment for your records. We disassemble each saddle assembly and examine internal wear surfaces.
Once repaired and renovated, your backing assemblies are reassembled and thoroughly inspected before being shipped back to your facilities and reintegrated into your production line.
