T. Sendzimir, Inc. is more than just a company – it’s a legacy that has been redefining the steel-making industry for over nine decades since its inception in 1929. Our story began with Tadeusz Sendzimir, a Polish inventor with a vision to innovate and transform the steel-making industry, who left his native Poland for America. His fascination with machinery led him to design galvanizing lines, laying the foundation for what we now know as T. Sendzimir, Inc.
Sendzimir’s journey from a hardworking immigrant to an integral part of the quintessential American success story is a testament to his audacity and initiative. His innovations included stainless steel rolling and the continuous process of galvanizing steel that we continue to use today. Stainless steel rolling was eventually implemented on the first 20-High Cluster Mill, paving the way for lightweight machinery.
In 1953, he introduced the first productive 20-High Cluster Mill, leading to global success for the company. His inventive prowess is evident because he held over 120 patents.
The company’s trust and family values story began after Tadeusz Sendzimir’s retirement when his son, Michael Sendzimir, took over leadership, continuing to lead the company for over four decades. Today, his son, Tad, carries forward the legacy of innovation.
Our journey includes creating product lines and mastering the technology of cluster mills. Our portfolio boasts over 400 cluster mills across 43 countries. Furthermore, by the early 1980s, up to 90 percent of the world’s stainless steel passed through the Sendzimir process.
